Briefing Paper & social action plan

 To complete this task:

Prepare a briefing paper and social action plan for a hypothetical working party in the community services sector (for example a local interagency or an advocacy group), that outlines an aspect of inequality in Australian society and recommends action to facilitate social change. Students will:

(a) Describe the inequality and apply a sociological perspective to explain the inequality 

(b) Recommend action that will facilitate social change

(c) Develop a social action plan. You can use this Social action plan template or develop your own. To use this template, you can download it into ‘Word’ by clicking on File > Download as > Microsoft Word

The assessment format should be as follows: 

  1. Introduction (approx. 200 words) 
  1. Describe the inequality and apply a sociological perspective to explain the inequality and demonstrate a need for social action to facilitate social change. (approx. 600-1000 words) 
  2.  Recommended action and links to the social action plan (approx. 100 words).
  3. Develop a social action plan that includes a summary of your key points demonstrating the need for social action from your analysis. (600-1000 words)
