    This consists of 10 MCQ quizzes available to be completed via Moodle. The first quiz will be available in week 3 and thereafter each quiz will be available every week up to week 12. Each quiz will be open only for 2 weeks and you must complete it within this 2-week window.
    D1.2 Assessment Component 2 – (weighting 80%) word count 2000 words (Activity 1 20%, Activity 2 60%)
    Activity 1 – Individual Presentation (500 words equivalent)
    In this component, you are expected to explore and analyse the marketing mix (4P’s) within the context of company of your choice and present your findings via 10 Mins in-class (Power Point Presentation). You are required to describe each element of the marketing mix in detail relevant examples.
    Product
    Describe the product in detail and how it meets customers’ needs and what makes it valuable
    Price
    How pricing is aligned with the target marketing and competition
    Place
    What are the distribution channels and how the final product gets to the customer or target market?
    Promotion
    Provide an account on the promotion strategy such as sales and promotion, public relation and partnership.

Your presentation should identify the current position of the organisations in relation to their competitors and the key issues that is impacting on the said organisation. Please discuss your selected organisation with your tutor as early as possible to make sure that you are on the right direction.
The presentation (maximum 10 minutes) will provide the highlights of your project. The sequence of presentations will be announced one week in advance by the relevant tutor.
Harvard Style referencing must be used in the body of the report and in the references.
Activity 2 – Marketing Campaign Report (1500 words)
Referring back to the Activity 1 i.e. Presentation, write a report in preparing a marketing campaign with clear understanding as to how your chosen organisation would be able to launch a new product or service.
It is recommended that a report writing structure should be followed.

Executive Summary

Introduction – This could be a brief background of marketing and its role in the marketing campaign and briefly explain what company wants to achieve bearing in mind the SMART objectives/goals.

Develop the marketing campaign: this section should focus on a campaign to develop a new product or service of the company using Ansoff’s Matrix in possibly creative manners.

Discuss the customer driven strategy: This section should discuss the company’s segmentation, targeting, positioning and differentiation process for success of product/service.

Conclusion and Recommendations – provide conclusion of this report with appropriate recommendations

References – provide list of references using Harvard Referencing Style

  2. Late Submissions, Extensions and Resits
    Submissions made after the deadline should be made using the same submission mode as stated in this assessment brief. These include late submissions, extensions, ILPs (Individual Learning Plans) and RAPs (Reasonable Adjustment Plans).
    As per the General Academic Regulations work submitted up to seven calendar days after the date of the submission date will, if deemed a pass, have 5 marks deducted from the mark awarded, or receive, if the mark is 45 or less, a maximum mark of 40% for undergraduate programmes, or if the mark is 55 or less a maximum mark of 50% for taught Masters and PGCE programmes. Resits with or without penalty are not eligible for the late submission allowance.
    Resits and assessments submitted as agreed by the Mitigating Circumstances Board should be made using the same submission mode as stated in this assessment brief. If the mode is via Moodle, a Moodle Assessment submission link entitled ‘Resits’ will appear on the Moodle page for these submissions.
    Students must check with the Module Leader before submitting the same task to a resit, to ensure that the task has not been changed.
