The predetermined issue and/or situation

Your organisation, ICS Technologies have got a contract from a Government body to create an online web portal for managing registration, applications and fee payment for registered trainers and assessors for training and education providers.

Your supervisor has advised you that the Government is currently using a web-portal that does not meet the following requirements:

  1. The web portal is quite outdated and does not use the current technologies and the capabilities available
  2. The web portal lacks a number of functionalities such as:
  1. Calculating and adjusting the 50% discounts to Government trainers and assessors
  2. Does not provide sufficient information to use the functionalities as there is no documentation for the web-portal
  3. Access to tools, calculators and documents that staff require to access daily is unpredictable and demonstrates a number of technical issues.
  4. No training provided or available for the current web-portal and using and understanding its existing functionalities
  5. No proper Governance model for the web-portal
  6. Poor and dated visual design for the web-portal
  7. The upload speed is extremely slow as it takes forever for the information to be loaded on the web-portal
  8. Security issues and certification problems as the current web-portal does not comply with the current website security requirements https://www.quicksprout.com/website-security/ and other conditions mentioned in the typical business requirements section under the “Business requirements documentation and information” heading.
  9. The theme/design of the portal is not suitable for a trainer/assessor registration purposes and does not base on earning maximum revenue in the long run
  10. The current web-portal is not currently on a reliable web hosting
  11. No integration with the social media channels
  12. There is currently no strategy for the web-portal and you will be asked to speak to the supervisor for all the following:
  1. Quick and easy development
  2. Choose the platform that supports all types of basics and advanced features
  3. Improve site maintenance
  4. Support developer community
  5. Design changes are easy and simple
  6. Should work well through a large number of extensions and plugins
  7. Integration with social media channels
  8. You are provided with numerical data and information on additional website issues and errors, as illustrated below:

The mentioned above are some of the reasons why Government advisors have lost their trust in the current web portal for trainer/assessor registration purposes.

  • Access to tools, calculators and documents that staff require to access on daily basis should be easy to use with no technical issues currently being noticed.
  • Training should be provided or available for the current web-portal and using and understanding its current functionalities
  • The proper Governance model for the web-portal should be made available in consultation with the Government body
  • The visual design for the web-portal should be updated
  • The upload speed should be improved
  • Security issues and certification problems should be taken care of
  • The theme/design of the portal should be suitable for a trainer/assessor registration purposes and should be based on earning maximum revenue in the long run
  • The web-portal should be on a reliable web hosting
  • Easy integration with the social media channels should be provided
  • The typical business requirements for the web-portals should be fulfilled
