Project Brief Overview of Module Activities: This module introduces students to the fundamentals of business and to key theories in business management and administration. You will learn how competitive forces influence business decisions and you will develop skills in business analysis and in recommendation of strategies. The module covers the following key areas: External Environment Analysis (LO1, LO2): How to conduct a PESTLE analysis on specific companies and industries and to use that analysis to understand how external factors impact business strategy. This content would allow you to apply current business administration theories to real-world case studies and develop creative solutions. Internal Environment Analysis (LO3, LO4): How to perform a SWOT analysis to assess a company’s strengths and weaknesses. This content facilitates the application of management theories to current business cases and the use management tools to evaluate companies’ competitive position. Management Theory Application (LO1, LO3): How to identify and analyse the management theory in place within a business. This content would enable the evaluation of a company’s effectiveness and the identification of areas for improvements or alternative strategies: it would entail linking theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. Strategic Recommendations (LO2, LO4): How to develop strategic recommendations based on the above analyses. This would involve the exploration of business case studies and the suggestion of creative solutions through business management tools. This type of consideration could lead on to the development of innovative action plans for business growth.
