Length: 3000 words +/- 10% (excluding references) Learning outcomes covered:
LO4. Research and incorporate the perspectives of a complex network of stakeholders relevant to a practical project
Assessment Task
You are to perform a stakeholder analysis, including evidence of research, and write a report that will comprehensively incorporate the perspectives of all stakeholders that are, or will be, involved in the new product experience. The report is to include an ecosystem map, which is a visualisation of the complex system of constituents including humans, machines, interfaces, devices, platforms, and systems – their relationships and interdependencies.
Furthermore, on the basis of this analysis, you are to predict intended or unintended benefits as well as disadvantages in the new product ecosystem, and recommend how affected stakeholders can be
involved early in the project to increase buy-in and chances of success.
Instructions
- Ecosystem Maps (stakeholder analysis) are described in the course e-book This is Service Design Doing;
- The research can use secondary sources or existing primary sources;
- The submission report is to be submitted in MSWord format. However, if you intend to draw the Ecosystem Map using MS Office applications then it is recommended you use MSPowerPoint to create the Map and then copy and paste it into your MSWord report. The reason for this recommendation is that PowerPoint has easier and more powerful drawing tools than Word;
- You should also refer to the Marking Rubric for Assessment 3 for details on assessment criteria; and
- To submit your assignment, upload it to the Dropbox for Assessment 3, below, by the due date.
Referencing
APA 7th Edition referencing guidelines are to be followed and evidence of wide reading is expected for an assignment at this level, i.e. a minimum of six authoritative sources to be acceptable. For more information, please refer to the Marking Rubric.
