- Apply project management tools in accordance with industry practice for the management of projects;
- Create communications of a professional standard to engage stakeholders and justify proposals.
Aim: to justify the use of four Waterfall Project Management tools for application to an appropriate self-developed case study.
Format: a formal, consultant’s report.
Tasks:
- Prepare a formal, written report of 2250 words
- Justify the selection and application of Waterfall project management processes to a case study you develop e.g., Schedule, risk register, communications plan, RACI.
- Provide illustrations of the application of Waterfall PMP tools by providing examples derived from your case study.
- Select and apply a range of references to support your justification of Waterfall PMPO tools.
Remember, your role is to advise the Project owner (for instance) on Project Management Processes, NOT to prepare a project plan.
You outline and explain (including references) the various project management tools that would suit the case study project and perhaps even include an example of how they apply. It will then be up to the Project Board to develop the Project Plan etc. This is not your task as a consultant.
The word count includes the intro, body and conclusion of the report only.
You still need to prepare:
- a Letter of Transmittal,
- Report Title Page,
- Executive Summary,
- List of References and
- Appendices
