2. Stakeholder engagement plan. 3
3. Elicitation activity plan. 6
1. Introduction
The paper will be discussing a new app that Mcdonald’s launched in Australia in 2017 so that they can give a better experience to the customers in getting their order by skipping the queue. Moreover, it will be discussed how the stakeholders are engaged in different areas so that the company can make benefit from them. The customers, suppliers, competitors and others are responsible for making any differences in the company as well as are responsible for making the organization run successfully. In this paper, the stakeholder’s engagement and four elicitation techniques will be discussed so that the app can be made better for the customers.
2. Stakeholder engagement plan
The main stakeholders of the Mcdonald’s company in Australia are the customers, suppliers, employees, government, partners, franchise holders, government and competitors. The available stakeholders of the McDonald’s company are as follows:
- Identification of the stakeholders
It is important to identify the stakeholders of a company as well as their interests. This can be done by talking to them and asking them about their opinion regarding the potential stakeholder (Torelli, Balluchi & Furlotti, 2020). The process can be done by brainstorming with the stakeholders and also will be able to understand them in a deeper way.
- Accessing the importance of stakeholder
The company will decide how the various stakeholders can be engaged in the organization and also make some approaches so that they can create an impact on the organization.
- Identifying how the stakeholders can be engaged
The organization should follow the technique that how the different types of stakeholders can be made engaged in different places of work.
Stakeholder | Stakeholder type | Stakeholder category | description |
Employees | Internal | direct | Employees are those who are responsible for selling, creating and manufacturing the product of a company. |
Customers | External | Indirect | Customers are the important stakeholders who have the ability in deciding whether the business will run successfully or not |
Suppliers | External | Direct | They are responsible to supply the raw materials that an organization can use in order to create its products |
Franchise holders | Internal | Indirect | Franchise holders are those who are responsible in making any kind of decisions in an organization |
Government | External | Indirect | The government stakeholder is responsible for collecting taxes from the organization including the employees and other sales tax |
competitors | external | Direct | Competitors are an important part of stakeholders because they get affected by a new implementation of a project |
The stakeholders can take a decision regarding the impact of the organization | Stakeholders should be kept satisfied even though they are not interested in the organization |
The stakeholders should be kept informed about the necessary the things | Monitoring is needed without any excessive communication |
Employees:
Their work creates an impact on the organization as they are responsible for creating the products and services (Le & Huynh, 2021).
Customers:
They have the power to guide the business in which direction it will run and also supports the company in each and every purchase they make which shows the organization to focus on the services that can be invested in future.
Suppliers:
The whole organization is depending upon the suppliers as they have the power to supply the best and rare goods. The suppliers are one who is responsible for delivering the high-quality products at a reasonable price.
Franchise holders:
The franchise holders have the power in making any kind of changes and differences in the company. The franchisee holders are also responsible for hiring and training the employees so that they can create benefits for the organization.
Government:
It has the power to control the regulatory framework and also has got the power to decide how the company will operate.
Competitors:
It has the power to launch a new product in the market that can abandon the existing project. The company can put more focus on its existing goods and services which can help in maintaining the market share.
3. Elicitation activity plan
The four elicitation techniques are:
Brainstorming:
The brainstorming elicitation technique helps the stakeholders in producing the ideas and concepts in order to solve the issues and topics (Souza et al., 2020). The different ideas that will be generated from the stakeholders can create an impact on the organization. The brainstorming elicitation technique can result in creative thinking within a very short span of time. This elicitation technique has been selected as the proper technique as it helps each and every member to speak and provides them with an opportunity to generate their own ideas (Azbaki, Hagal & Ramadhan, 2021). The brainstorming elicitation technique can perform through three steps such as capturing the idea, discussing about the idea and then the final step is the selection.
The suppliers, employees, lenders, the team members will be engaged in the brainstorming elicitation activity plan.
Mcdonald’s has recently launched a new app called MyMacca’s app so that the customers get their orders in a more convenient way without standing for hours in the queue. In that case, it is needed to generate new ideas and concepts for this new app so that it can run successfully and the customers also can get their orders on time.
Interface analysis
The interface elicitation techniques can be used by the stakeholders in order to review the whole system, process and people of an organization. The interface analysis is found to be useful as it helps in exchanging information between each component. This elicitation activity plan can help in determining the regulations as well as the interface standards (Okesola et al., 2019). This technique is also useful for the stakeholders as it has the ability to focus on those areas where the risks of the project can be determined.
The employees, franchise holders, the regulatory bodies are the stakeholders who will be engaged in the interface analysis elicitation activity plan.
The launching of the new app MyMacca app has benefits but also can possess some risks and drawbacks in it. The interface analysis can help in determining the risks associated with it. The app is actually working on making the customers satisfied and is also working on increasing customer experience in order to gain a competitive advantage. The interface analysis will provide Mcdonald’s with improving the app according to the customer’s needs.
Observation
The observation elicitation technique is helpful as it helps in understanding the activity, task and resources used (Ramdhani et al., 2018). The observation activity plan followed with some questions which provide the observer in putting practical insight into the project. The observation elicitation plan is also found to be useful as it can define those areas where it needs improvement. The observation elicitation technique is found to be useful in an organization in order to detect the errors during the evaluation process.
The team members, franchise holders, and customers are the stakeholders that will engage in the observation elicitation activity plan.
Launching of the new app MyMacca’s tried to meet the needs of the customers and moreover, Mcdonald’s also want to match the expectations of customers through using artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies. Through proper observation, the customer experience can be improved while using the app. The stakeholders can go with geofencing capabilities that can be used in determining the time when the customers are approaching the restaurant and also to make sure that they are getting fresh food delivered. The proper observation elicitation activity plan can involve the stakeholders in looking to improve the process (Kim et al., 2019).
Survey or questionnaire
This elicitation activity plan can provide the stakeholders to collect the responses from the customers and competitors. This technique is found to be useful as it can help in getting data from a huge audience and the time taken is less (Wahbeh, Sarnikar & El-Gayar, 2020). Accurate information can be delivered with the proper survey method and also allows to understand that what the customers are experiencing from the products and services of an organization.
The customers, competitors, employees, franchise holders and team members will be engaged in the survey or questionnaire elicitation plan.
As the app is focusing on the customer’s needs and their experiences in having their foods without any hassle, it is useful to survey them to get accurate feedback. The app is trying to improve and is also providing easy payment methods to pay for the order. It is also trying to access data analytics and artificial intelligence so that customers can get their food delivered with exclusive offers. For achieving this, proper research should be done and should focus on the area of improvement.
4. Conclusion
The paper concludes that McDonald’s has launched an app named MyMacca to make the customer get the orders without standing for a long time in the queue. This will save their time and the app also provides with customized order section where they can also add the food to their favourites. It is important to research the market and make a detailed survey that can help in improving the customer experience while using the app. The stakeholders can use the elicitation techniques in order to make the app run more successfully and also to make improvements to it.
