- The exponential decay of radioactive radon gas can be modelled by y = y0e−kt, where y is the grams of radon remaining after t days. If the half-life of the gas is days and we started with ten grams of radon, answer the following questions.
- Find the value of y0.
- Find the value of k to four decimal places.
- What is the mass after one day?
- How long will it take for the mass to reduce to one gram?

3. John buys two loaves of bread and a litre of milk for $8. The following week he buys four loaves of bread and three litres of milk for $18.
- Form two equations from this information to determine the cost of bread and milk. Define any variables used.
- Write the simultaneous equations in matrix form and solve the system using an inverse matrix.
- Verify your solutions.
