BSBPMG505A Manage Project Quality STUDENT ASSESSMENT TASK 2

Student Assessment TASK 2 Skill Test

Unit outcomes

Quality is one of three most important elements in the conduct of a project. Using the trade-off triangle approach, we can see that it ties in with Time and Cost. This unit will allow the student to investigate those attributes of establishing a Quality Control Plan and the management techniques for applying this to the construction environment

The student will understand that in project management, quality control requires the project manager and the project team to inspect the accomplished work to ensure its alignment with the project scope.

When applying these principles in general practice, the student will identify that projects typically have a dedicated quality control team which focuses on this and how to select and manage such QC/ QA teams.

At the completion of this unit students will be able to successfully demonstrate competency in:

  • Relating to and identifying customer perception of quality
  • Understand the main principles of ISO9000 series in QC Management
  • Applying management skills to QA/ QC / Planning

This unit has a nominal duration of 60 hours. This will be broken up into:

  • 6 face to face training sessions (4x 4 hr, 2 x 8 hr sessions)
  • 28 hours self-directed learning, completion of activities and completion of their assessment tasks

Students will be issued with their workbook prior to the scheduled Classroom session through the Student Suite portal. They must come to the session having already read the workbook and completed some relevant subject activities.

To complete these assessments, you will require access to:

  • access to BCA and relevant documents referenced in the BCA
  • access to relevant legislation
  • Research resources, including product information and data (Document Addendum)
  • Relevant computer software package and suitable hardware.
