Exercise Science: Elite Athlete Blood Doping

An elite endurance athlete has been doing everything they can to win. They have been training at high altitude which has increased their aerobic capacity. However, they are under investigation for blood doping. You are asked to explain the physiology for the court of arbitration.

Question 1: Firstly, you are asked to describe the hormonal and respiratory responses to high-altitude exposure and explain the cardiovascular improvements that can occur. 10 marks, Maximum 400 words

A person suffering from recurrent bronchial asthma attacks was misdiagnosed with an anxiety disorder and told they were panic attacks. They were treated with beta blockers. Because of your anatomy and physiology background, you are asked to explain the following to lawyers.
