
Role description:
The role of the Rehabilitation Consultant is to work in partnership with clients, employers and insurers to achieve appropriate and sustainable employment and/or independent living for your clients.
You will provide a diverse range of vocational rehabilitation consultancy services to your clients.
Your key role will be case management. As a case manager, you will service a caseload
of individuals with physical and psychological injuries. You will provide a single point of contact to work with all key parties, including employers, insurer, and medical and health practitioners, ensuring all parties have the right information and commitment to safety. You will work will all key stakeholders to support your client to return to the workforce.
As Rehabilitation consultant you will be required to:
- Manage a caseload of assessment, return to work and psychosocial program services
- Deliver rehabilitation services in an innovative, ethical, collaborative and best practice approach
- Foster client relationships and demonstrate strong interpersonal and liaison skills
- Work with clients that are not yet engaged or ready to engage with clinical support
- Undertake discipline specific assessments
- Work effectively as part of a team with an ability to use initiative and solve problems
- Be enthusiastic and engaging with clients, customers and colleagues
About you
- You will need to be open to new opportunities, and have a non-judgemental approach
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Rehabilitation Counselling (or similar) with appropriate AHPRA / ASORC / ESSA / RCAA registration where required
- Are driven by a desire to make a real difference and undertake your work to the highest standard, a persistent can-do attitude and an “above and beyond approach”
- You will preferably have experience in vocational rehabilitation, including working with ADF/DVA Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and/or Income Protection clients
- Have an understanding of worker’s compensation legislation (highly desirable)
