Project
You must be able to coordinate the HR functions for an organisation.
To show that you know how to do this you can write a detailed explanation of the procedures you would follow to:
- develop and implement HR services that meet the needs of employees and the organisation
- ensure that all HR services comply with the necessary legislative, regulatory, quality, organisational and business frameworks
- articulate the key features of human resource strategies and planning processes and their relationship to business and operational plans, and promote the services offered by HR
- develop and implement policies, procedures and codes that make positive contributions to management of the organisation
- participate in workforce planning
- ensure that a diverse workforce is employed and supported
- contribute to ensuring that business activities, relationships between management and employees and the behaviours and actions of managers and employees are ethical and comply with the organisation’s code of conduct and/or code of ethics
- communicate effectively with a range of relevant stakeholders at various levels of seniority in order to gather and to make them aware of the services provided by the HR department provide
- address specific needs within the organisation – eg recruitment and selection, induction and training, performance and contract management, payroll, health and safety, employee support needs, cultural safety etc
- if appropriate, calculate the ROI on HR services within the organisation
- follow appropriate record keeping procedures and manage privacy and confidentiality requirements when dealing with all human resource information
- collect feedback using suitable methods, in order to evaluate the services provided and to make improvements if needed.
Alternatively, if you are working, you can gather and submit a portfolio of evidence to show that you have contributed to all of these functions. You will need to work with your assessor to identify the documents that will be accepted.
They might include (but will not be limited to):
- copies of policies, procedures and codes, and an explanation of the roles you played in developing, implementing and monitoring them
- evidence of your contribution to recruitment, selection, induction and training of employee
- evidence of procedures followed to recruit a diverse workforce and provide suitable support for employees with different needs
- copies of written communications you have developed and distributed to inform employees about services or about changes to HR services
- results of surveys conducted to identify levels of employee satisfaction and improvement needs relevant to HR services
The assessor must be able to confirm that you have been instrumental in all the relevant HR activities. This can be supported by testimonials from managers, peers and other stakeholders; and you can submit copies of your performance evaluations.
