ALTERNATIVE TASK   If you did not attend the site visit to Dreamworld:

  1. Select another tourist attraction or business to conduct a safety audit.
  • Using the headings from the Dreamworld report, develop a set of questions to ask the manager of your chosen tourism attraction/organization.  The questions should be aimed at developing knowledge of the workplace health and safety policies and procedures within the organization as well as the hazards faced by employees and guests/clients, and the measures that the business has taken to minimize the risks.
  • Show your teacher the set of questions before going out to the organization.
  • Take notes and collect any documents that will support your report.
  • Using similar headings to that for Dreamworld, write your findings up in a report.
