Brief Description of the assessment: This is an open-ended assignment. Students are asked to use a Raspberry Pi and a selection of sensors to read the sensor, create a web server and access the sensor’s information remotely (i.e. on their mobile phones) in real time. |
Learning outcomes for the assessment: Compare methods relating to information transfer in the Internet of Things devices using their sensors and actuators; A deeper understanding of the design and development methodologies for Internet of Things applications; Design and develop a software application for IoT-enabled mobile and wearable devices using a mobile platform. Design and performance evaluation of the software app developed with regards to collection, analysis and visualisation of sensor data; Assessment and marking criteria A proper engineering report is expected exceeding 10 pages: 50% A 10-minutes max presentation of the system in full working conditions will be arranged.
