Learning Outcomes | The purpose of this assessment is to give you the opportunity to apply your learnings to a real-world setting applying actual regulations relating to workplace health, safety and well-being. It will build your employment capabilities in business analysis through evaluation of the scholarly literature and statutory regulations. CLO1: Analyse and apply the contribution of multiple disciplines to the understanding and impact of occupational injury and occupational disease in workplaces and the community. CLO3: Communicate WHS data and concepts, using written, oral and visual tools, in inclusive and culturally appropriate ways. CLO4: Evaluate and articulate knowledge of psychosocial and wellbeing issues in the workplace |

Task | Background | Palumbo and colleagues (2022) Download Palumbo and colleagues (2022) assert that COVID-19 has accelerated the digitalisation of organisations to enhance flexibility and adaptability in a turbulent environment. From their research of the literature they have warned of digitalisation’s side effects on psycho-social hazards at work. This has real implications for Singapore with its ambition to be the global SMART leader. A survey by a global jobs website found that over half of employers (56%) in Singapore agreed that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic had accelerated the pace of digitisation in the workplace (Heo 2021 (Links to an external site.)). The Task | You are a WHWS consultant hired by a group of Singapore business owners in the manufacturing and service sectors who are concerned about the adverse impact of psychosocial hazards on employee well-being in the digitised workplace. You have been contracted to prepare a report of WHWS strategies that businesses need to implement to protect employees from psychosocial hazards in digitised Singapore workplaces. This assignment is Part 1 of the report. Part 2 will be completed in Assignment 3. Your report will need to show you have undertaken significant research of the global scholarly, professional and regulatory (Singapore) literature of key psychosocial hazards in digitised workplaces. Your analysis must cover the following factors in relation to digitised workplaces: Definition: psychosocial hazards and digitised workplaces Context: Types of digitised industries that pose the highest psycho-social hazards Context: Risk, incidence, and cost of psychosocial hazards Management Control: Management processes to control the psychosocial risk in the digitised workplace.
