Deadline for Attempt Submission by Students:	Thursday 12th January 2023
Mechanism for Submission:	Your assignment should be submitted online via Turnitin through your KF7028 module site.
Submission Format / Word Count	You should upload your assignment in either word or pdf format to the appropriate assessment area on the KF7028 Blackboard module site. The length of your written reflection should not exceed 1500 words including references.
Date by which Work, Feedback and Marks will be returned:	Draft feedback and marks will be returned to you by Thursday February 2nd 2023. Final marks will only be formally confirmed at the award board.
Mechanism for return of Feedback and Marks:	Your draft marks and feedback will be provided online via the main Blackboard module site. Your module tutors can be contacted with any queries relating to your formal feedback.

Assignment Brief

Introduction

For this assignment you should produce an individual professional reflection of your learning journey through this module. This should comprise a critical analysis of how you have developed your project proposal and the personal and professional development that you have experienced through this process.

Throughout the module you should have been keeping your online module journal up to date. You should use this to provide evidence and examplars to support your professional reflection. You should also draw on the relevant literature to inform your reflective practice.

This assignment is therefore important as:

• It accounts for 20% of the overall mark for KF7028, Research Methods and Project Management module.
• It is essential preparation for your final KF7029 MSc Computer Science and Digital Technologies research project.

Your Professional Reflection should contain the following and use these headings:

1. Challenges and Solutions

Critically discuss two of the main challenges you encountered during the preparation and writing of your proposal. And outline how you overcome them.

• Interaction and Use of Other People

Critically evaluate your interaction with others during the preparation and writing of your proposal. How useful did you find these interactions and why.

• Main Skills and Expertise

Identify with evidence two existing and two new skills and/or expertise you gained during the preparation and writing of your research proposal

• Lessons Learnt for the Future

Reflect on the whole process of constructing your research proposal and your responses to the previous 3 sections. What have you learnt from this and how will you draw on this learning in the future?

• Professional Development Plan

Complete the following table outlining 5 key areas of professional development that you will focus on going forward to support you on your MSc programme but also for your future career and plans. This could be about acquiring a new technical skill, it could be about improving your academic writing, it could be about managing and planning your time better.
