Assignment 2: Quality Improvement Project Proposal
Weighting: 40%
Assessment: Group work
Time allocation: 5-minute presentation ( For the question that I highlighted with the yellow highlighter)
Instructions:
The Task: Quality Improvement Project Proposal Presentation
Drawing on the Assessment 1 (Literature Review), the reading materials provided in this Unit, and other relevant evidence, develop a project proposal to prevent or minimise the nursing clinical quality and Medication Safety you have identified in Assessment 1.
Your group is required to provide a project proposal, including an implementation and evaluation strategy for determining the success of your planned approach/intervention. You will take on the perspective that you are presenting your project proposal to the health service senior managers and quality team, therefore need to provide a persuasive and evidence-based presentation to ensure your project is accepted.
Medication Error induced by stress
This is the identify issues my group are doing.
Requirements
- Project groups will be allocated in the first tutorial.
- Your group will present your project proposal during the Week 6 tutorial.
- Your presentation is required for online submission via Canvas on the day of your presentation to assist marking of references
- Follow the instructions and marking rubric.
- All students must present in the tutorial.
Once you have been allocated to your group, a communication strategy will need to be developed. For example, how will you all communicate with each other. Please see attached sheet to confirm contribution to the presentation. You will use your findings from assessment 1, literature review to inform your project proposal in assessment 2.
Structure your project proposal presentation as follows:
- Title page (Assessment name, student IDs)
- Introduction:
- Include a statement of the nursing clinical quality and safety issue (as per Assessment 1)
- Your nominated approach/intervention that addresses the quality and safety issue
- Aim – a statement of what you expect to achieve
- The related National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard (2nd Edition) you are addressing.
- The rationale, to support your choice of approach/intervention that addresses the quality and safety issue ( My part is ward)
- Quality improvement approach/intervention using the Plan, Do Study, Act cycle to guide the implementation strategy ( one this part I only need like 2 minutes presentation not need that much info)
- Facilitators and barriers to the quality improvement implementation strategy ( medication error medications)
- Evaluation methods to assess quality improvement processes and outcomes related to the approach/intervention
- Conclusion
- APA 7th Edition style for reference list and citations in your presentation.
TIP: You need to discuss relevant clinical governance strategies and appropriate action plan that could potentially mitigate the nursing clinical risk from occurring in future. It is vital that you review your clinical governance principles and integrate this in your discussion. You also need to discuss how you are going to measure your interventions, its effectiveness and the processes you will likely undertake if these interventions were ineffective. The PDSA cycle is a good place to start, providing a straightforward framework.
